Fears and Phobias
Fear is something that we all experience and it can be very helpful in keeping us safe.
However there are times when fear can become excessive and it can prevent us from doing the things that we want to do, have to do or might enjoy doing.
In some cases fear can become so excessive and even irrational that it leads to a phobia. A phobia is basically a fear of something that is so bad that it makes you want to run away.
The phobic feeling can get linked to something in the environment, an object, a situation or an activity. This can then become a tigger or a stimulus – fear of cats, spiders, knives, heights, social gatherings, public speaking and enclosed spaces are just a few examples of this. The brain then wants to avoid the unpleasant reaction, so you avoid the stimulus and this can have a serious impact on how you live your life.
Using hypnotherapy it is possible to relax and get control of your fear again. In a relaxed and resourceful state you can get a new perception of the process that creates the phobia and make the appropriate changes so that you can experience all the things that you want to.
