Self-esteem is the confidence in your ability to think and cope with the challenges in life and accept your right to be happy. This includes the feelings of being worthy, deserving and entitled to assert your needs and wants and to enjoy the rewards of your success.
When your self-esteem is low, almost all areas of your life are made more difficult. You can be extremely critical of yourself and you may become too afraid to attempt anything new.
You may even excuse any success you have by saying things like, “anyone could do that,” or “they have made a mistake,” or “I was lucky.”
